Sport Godalming Awards

Sport Godalming Sports Awards 2024

What a fantastic night on Friday 22nd November in The Wilfred Noyce Centre, celebrating our local athletes, sports people and volunteers and recognising their successes and achievements.

The evening was supported by the Mayor of Waverley Cllr john Ward and the Mayor of Godalming Cllr Paul Rivers.

Guest speaker Gill Platt inspired the Awards night with her talk about her life as a Polio survivor and discovering Bowls and playing for England…

Gill Platt

The competition for all the awards was incredible this year and the finalists have all excelled in their chosen sport or have been selfless in coaching and volunteering.

Simon Crowther, Chairman of Sport Godalming said:

“These awards evenings are always very special, not only for those athletes and teams being recognised but also by their supporters, coaches and families. This year was no exception and the buzz around a packed Wilfrid Noyce Centre was truly electric.

“From my side, I would like to thank the Sport Godalming team for all their contributions, on and leading up to the evening. We were honoured to have Borough and Town dignitaries in attendance as well as Gill Platt whose words were inspirational. All in all, a terrific evening and we look forward to 2025 and doing it all over again!”
